La Demoiselle de Sociando-Mallet 2023

Dark fragrance on the nose. Quite high-toned fruit, really focused on mouth-watering red berry fruit, almost searing, with lots of chalky, wet stones and liquorice giving a mineral menthol and slightly spiced undertone. But this carries power and focus, not heavy or fleshy, but nicely constructed with good drive and focus. Not the most complex, but well delivered. Will be easy to drink, with a touch of sweetness adding an extra nuance. 3.50 pH, ageing 12 months, 20% new oak.

Open and fruity nose of dried herbs, spices, ripe currants and plums. Juicy and firm, with soft-grained tannins and a fluid, crunchy finish. Drink now.
