Medium garnet-purple. Fresh, slightly herbal bouquet, notes of rhubarb and red currants, a rather slender attack. Elegant, easy-drinking palate, once again an acidity in the extract, slightly rough-edged, better than before, but not really good yet.

The first vintage under the new “shorter” name, overseen by the Cheval Blanc team. The estate was called La Tour du Pin Figeac Moueix up to the 2005 vintage. Medium garnet-purple. Fresh, slightly herbal bouquet, notes of rhubarb, red currants, a rather slender entry. Elegant, easy-drinking palate, again with a clearly noticeable acidity in the extract, slightly rough-edged; better than before but not yet truly good.

News: this vineyard, adjacent to Cheval Blanc, was purchased in July 2006 by Albert Frères. It was called La Tour du Pin Moueix and has just been renamed La Tour du Pin. At last, purity; at last, good balance on the palate. A juicy, caressing wine, with good body, and moreover flavorful and aromatic. The most discerning among you will notice tannins that could still be improved.
