Laurent-Perrier:
The three savoir-faire of the House
THE SAVOIR-FAIRE OF BLENDING RESERVE WINES
Laurent-Perrier has achieved exceptional expertise in selecting and preserving reserve wines. As a trailblazer, the House has made these wines central to its philosophy, carefully choosing each year those that offer the finest balance of freshness, ageing potential, and aromatic elegance. The renowned Grand Siècle cuvée epitomises this delicate art of blending, with every release arising from the harmonious union of three outstanding vintages. This mastery is further reflected in the Héritage, Brut Millésimé, and “La Cuvée” blends, each showcasing the full beauty of Laurent-Perrier’s refined savoir-faire.
THE SAVOIR-FAIRE
OF NON-DOSAGE
Laurent-Perrier pioneered non-dosage Champagnes with the launch of Ultra Brut® in 1981, predating the creation of the “Brut Nature” category. Its production relies on the meticulous selection of Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs from the finest crus, harvested at peak ripeness. Achieving a total absence of dosage demands exceptional precision: only grapes with perfect natural balance are chosen. This is complemented by a substantial proportion of reserve wines, contributing to the desired harmony and complexity. The Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature and Ultra Brut blends perfectly embody this commitment to excellence.
The savoir-faire of maceration
Since the 1960s, the House has been a pioneer of a new generation of rosé Champagnes crafted through maceration. This exacting method begins with the careful selection of the finest plots and Pinot Noir grapes, which are macerated by cru. During this delicate process, the must is left in contact with the grape skins, developing its signature pink hue and nuanced aromas. Mastering this technique is rare, yet Laurent-Perrier achieves it with remarkable finesse, as showcased in the Cuvée Rosé and Alexandra Rosé Millésimé.
