Description
An exceptional vintage Rosé Champagne, combining richness and precision
The estate
Founded in 1812, the Laurent-Perrier Champagne House entered its golden age from 1948 onwards, thanks to the dynamism of Bernard de Nonancourt. Under the impetus of this visionary businessman, the house distinguished itself by crafting cuvées reflecting its values of excellence and innovation.
From its origins, the house has built its identity around Chardonnay. Through the freshness and finesse this grape variety brings to the blend, it defines the style of this Champagne benchmark.
The Laurent-Perrier House expresses its avant-garde spirit notably through Grand Siècle and its multi-vintage blends, its Ultra Brut in a "zero dosage" style, and its Cuvée Rosé, the first maceration rosé Champagne in this category. These so-called "groundbreaking" cuvées, each release of which is an event, mark with their originality a new chapter in the history of the Laurent-Perrier House and its quest for excellence that underpins its international reputation.
The values dear to Bernard de Nonancourt find their quintessence in the Laurent-Perrier cuvées, unanimously acclaimed by connoisseurs.
The vineyard
This prestigious Rosé Champagne was conceived in 1987 by Bernard de Nonancourt for the wedding of his eldest daughter, Alexandra. Crafted only in exceptional vintages, this cuvée is the result of a rigorous selection of Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims (Ambonnay, Bouzy, Mailly, Verzenay) and Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs (Avize, Cramant, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger), two illustrious terroirs of Champagne.
The wine
Laurent-Perrier Alexandra Rosé 2012 is produced only in years when the Grands Crus of Champagne (Pinot Noir and Chardonnay) reach perfect ripeness at the same time. As a result, only 10 vintages have been released since its launch. This Rosé Champagne benefits from 10 years of ageing.
The vintage
Marked by unstable weather, the year began with a frosty winter, followed by a spring whose hail episodes and disease pressure impacted yields. The mild summer favoured optimal ripening of the grapes destined for the production of this 2012 vintage Champagne.
