    Bettane+Desseauve

A lovely style, close to that of a great wine, with good body and freshness to balance the grapes’ high ripeness. A perfect wine in its category, offered at a well-considered price that makes it accessible to everyone.

Fruity, red and black cherry; compact attack, juicy development, class-act tannins, perfectly integrated, no trace of heaviness, an incredibly transparent, fruit-driven, long finish; stunning.

Blackcurrant florality on the nose. Great sweetness and juiciness with creamy edges, too, and again the aromatics come out. Soft, playful, nice depth, unshowy but nicely balanced and well presented. It's for easy drinking. Gentle and comforting. Drink now.

Really clear aromas of blackcurrants and blackberries with dried flowers and sandalwood. It’s full- to medium-bodied, with very tight, refined tannins that run the length of the finish. Second wine of Lagrange. Very well done. Best after 2024.

    Neal Martin

The 2019 Les Fiefs de Lagrange fulfills its promise from barrel. It feels harmonious and engaging on the nose of brambly red fruit, undergrowth and freshly rolled tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, and quite weighty and mouth-filling for a Deuxième Vin, offering satisfying sapidity on the finish. Very fine.

Sharp, bright, juicy cassis with a nice salty note on the back end of this medium-bodied wine that is produced in a forward style for early drinking consumption. 86-88 Pts

Dark ruby garnet, purple reflections, delicate edge brightening. Hints of cedar, fine herbal savouriness, a hint of nougat, fresh orange zest, subtle dried fruit. Medium complexity, red cherries, vivid tannins, mineral on the finish, lemony nuances, currants in the aftertaste.

Bright dark purple colour. Youthful nose offering violet, freshly crushed berries, darker fruit notes with cassis and dark plum. Medium-weight palate, elegant and polished with floral dark-fruit flavours, polished tannins, fresh and digest with fine length. Already fairly accessible.

Attractive and well-balanced wine, with raspberry and red cherry fruits, with a clearer emphasis on summer fruits compared to the main estate wine. This wraps up fairly quickly, but has an unfussy juiciness to it.

    The Wine Independent

    Lisa Perrotti-Brown

The 2019 Les Fiefs de Lagrange is made from 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it leaps from the glass with lovely notes of wild blueberries, warm cassis, and kirsch, leading to suggestions of baking spices and lilacs. The medium-bodied palate is vibrant and intense, with firm, grainy tannins and bold freshness, finishing with great length and energy.

    Vertdevin

The nose is elegant, indulgent, and powerful. It reveals notes of juicy/pulpy boysenberry, wild raspberry, and a hint of cubeb pepper, joined by touches of ripe black berries, pulpy black plum, and subtle hints of racy minerality. The palate is fruity and balanced, offering tension, precision, indulgence, and a touch of freshness. On the palate, this wine shows notes of juicy blackcurrant, boysenberry, and, more subtly, tangy small red berries, with touches of tangy wild raspberry and delicate hints of liquorice pastille, toasted hazelnut, and chocolate. Good length. The tannins are elegant.

    Jean-Marc Quarin

Dark, intense, and bright color. Very aromatic and fruity nose. Silky palate, with an airy, perfumed body, finishing sappy with length and no tannic edge. Very pleasant.
