A rare and elegant white wine from Beaune

    The estate

Founded in 1797 by Jean Latour, Maison Louis Latour remains an independent family-owned company. Owning 48 hectares of vines, including 28.63 hectares classified as Grands Crus, it has the largest holding of Grands Crus in Burgundy, stretching from Chambertin to Chevalier-Montrachet. Under the current management of Florent Latour, representing the eleventh generation, with Eléonore Latour also involved in management, and Christophe Deola heading the estate since 2017, the Maison perpetuates two centuries of know-how, combining sustainable viticulture with its role as both estate owner and négociant.

    The vineyard

This classic wine from the Maison comes from the hillsides overlooking Beaune. White wines account for only 5% of the production of this appellation, which gives this cuvée a particularly rare character. The vineyard is planted on chalk and limestone soils, a terroir that is ideal for expressing Chardonnay. The vines, with an average age of 30 years, are harvested by hand.

    Winemaking and aging

Beaune Blanc 2023 is traditionally vinified in oak barrels, with full malolactic fermentation. The aging of this white wine from Bourgogne takes place over a period of 8 to 10 months in French oak barrels from the Tonnellerie Louis Latour, with 10% new oak and a medium toast.

    Grape variety

    100% Chardonnay.
