The Expression of Beaune's Terroir by Maison Louis Latour

    The Estate

Founded in 1797 as a wine merchant house, Maison Louis Latour is a historic institution of Burgundy. Based in Beaune and Aloxe-Corton, it is now led by Florent Latour, representing the twelfth generation of an unbroken family lineage. The estate stands out for its extensive vineyard of some fifty hectares, a significant portion of which is classified as Grand Cru. A fervent advocate of certified sustainable viticulture, the estate also has its own cooperage, reflecting a complete mastery of its craft from vine to cellar.

    The Vineyard

The grapes for this cuvée come from the historic appellation of Beaune, located on the Côte de Beaune. The vines, averaging around thirty years of age, flourish on gentle slopes overlooking the town. The terroir consists of soils rich in limestone and chalk, giving the wine its natural minerality. The estate applies environmentally friendly methods, free of synthetic chemicals, and limits yields to ensure concentrated berries. The harvest is carried out entirely by hand.

    Winemaking and Aging

The Beaune Village 2024 is crafted following traditional Burgundian methods. Alcoholic fermentation takes place directly in French oak barrels, followed by complete malolactic fermentation. Aging spans 8 to 10 months in barrels from the estate's own cooperage, 10% of which are new and have a medium toast. This meticulous process, combined with regular topping up, helps clarify the wine while imparting a harmonious aromatic complexity.

    Grape Variety

This wine is crafted from 100% Chardonnay.
