The estate

Founded in 1797 by Jean Latour in Aloxe-Corton, Louis Latour now flourishes across 50 hectares in Burgundy, including 28 hectares of Grands Crus. Led by Louis-Fabrice Latour, representing the 11th generation, the house has perpetuated the expertise of cooper and winegrower since 1731. Holder of the largest collection of Grands Crus in Côte d'Or, it combines Burgundian tradition and innovation since its first exports in 1867.

The vineyard

The "Les Baudines" climat is located at the top of the Chassagne-Montrachet hillside, on the edge of the forest, at an altitude of 315 meters. The chardonnay vines, averaging 30 years old, thrive in rich white clay-limestone soils. The appellation takes its name from the dialectal term "Bode" meaning stone house, referring to the old huts once found on these slopes.

Winemaking and aging

After manual harvesting, traditional vinification in oak barrels with full malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place for 8 to 10 months in medium-toast French oak barrels, 50% of which are new and made by Louis Latour's cooperage.

Grape variety

100% chardonnay.
