The richness and balance of a white Burgundy Premier Cru

    The Estate

Created in 1797 by Jean Latour, the Maison Louis Latour continues a Burgundian family tradition begun in 1731. An independent estate run by the Latour family, it is the largest Grand Cru estate in the Côte d'Or with iconic parcels in Corton, Romanée-Saint-Vivant and Chambertin. Historically based in Aloxe-Corton, the Maison spans the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits. Its uniqueness lies in the unique union of cooperage and viticulture, preserving artisanal expertise passed down through eight generations in Burgundy.

    The Vineyard

The "Les Chenevottes" climat is located slightly higher on the hill than the Grand Cru Le Montrachet, in the appellation Chassagne-Montrachet. This terroir bears remarkable similarities to Le Montrachet in its clay-limestone soil composition, southern exposure and aromatic profile. The name "Chenevottes" comes from the Old French "cheneve," meaning hemp, as this plot was once a hemp field. The vines, averaging 35 years of age, are grown on this exceptional terroir with a controlled yield of 40 hl/ha and a manual harvest.

    Winemaking and Aging

Winemaking in oak barrels with complete malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place for 8 to 10 months in French oak barrels with medium toast, 50% of which are new, sourced from the Louis Latour cooperage. This method preserves the expression of the terroir while imparting an elegant structure to the wine.

    Grape Variety

This wine is made exclusively from Chardonnay, the emblematic grape variety of Burgundy’s great white wines.
