The Structure and Balance of a Burgundian Grand Cru

    The Estate
Founded in 1797 by Jean Latour in Aloxe-Corton, this Burgundian family house perpetuates a unique heritage combining cooperage and winemaking. Owner of 33 hectares including Grands Crus de Corton, Louis Latour stands out for its dual expertise inherited from its cooper origins. A pioneer in exports since 1815 and former supplier to European royal courts, the house remains an essential reference of Burgundy wines since establishing itself on rue des Tonnelliers in Beaune in 1867.

    The Vineyard
The vines of the Corton "Clos du Roi" are perfectly east-facing on the hill of Corton, in the village of Aloxe-Corton. They are planted on a marl and limestone subsoil that gives the wine its characteristic structure and minerality. Strict pruning allows for late harvests, thus ensuring optimal ripeness and richness of the grapes.

    Winemaking and Aging
Winemaking is carried out traditionally in open vats, with a complete malolactic fermentation. Aging lasts 10 to 12 months in oak barrels, 25% of which are new, coming from the Louis Latour cooperage with a medium toast.

    Grape Variety
    Pinot noir (100%).
