    Description

Characteristics and tasting notes of Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Beaux Monts" 2024 Louis Latour

    Tasting

    Colour
Displaying a beautiful intensity, this wine reveals a dark garnet hue, enhanced by brilliant highlights of the same colour.

    Nose
The bouquet expresses a fine aromatic complexity dominated by black fruit aromas and pronounced spicy notes, particularly reminiscent of clove.

    Palate
Full-bodied and refined, the palate reveals a silky texture supported by velvety tannins. Black fruit flavours intertwine with delicate touches of nutmeg, extending into a very long finish.

    Food and wine pairing

This red wine pairs wonderfully with traditional dishes such as beef mironton, coq au vin or beef bourguignon. It will also enhance rabbit with chanterelles, venison with cranberries, as well as characterful matured cheeses like Époisses, Langres or Cîteaux.

    Service and storage

For optimal tasting, it is recommended to serve this Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Beaux Monts" 2024 at a temperature between 15 and 17°C. This wine can be cellared and enjoyed until around 2034.

The elegance and complexity of a great red wine

    The estate

Founded in 1797 in Aloxe-Corton, Maison Louis Latour is a true institution within Burgundy's wine region. Now led by Florent Latour, alongside Eléonore Latour who represents the twelfth generation, this historic estate oversees a vineyard of approximately 50 hectares. Notably, it holds the largest area of Grands Crus in the Côte d'Or. A pioneer in sustainable viticulture with ISO14001 certification for two decades, the estate is also distinguished by owning its own traditional cooperage and a historic gravity-flow cellar dating back to 1834.

    The vineyard

This Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Beaux Monts" 2024 comes from vines averaging around thirty years of age. Ideally exposed to the east, halfway up the slope in the commune of Vosne-Romanée, the plots rest on a distinctive terroir composed of iron-rich clay and limestone. The grapes are harvested by hand to preserve their quality, with carefully controlled yields.

    The vintage

The year 2024 was marked by particularly challenging weather conditions. The growing cycle had to contend with severe frost episodes, devastating hailstorms, as well as heavy rainfall in September. These climatic challenges significantly reduced yields, making this a vintage of great rarity.

    Winemaking and aging

Following traditional fermentation in open vats, this wine undergoes 10 to 12 months of aging. This maturation takes place in medium-toasted French oak barrels, 40% of which are new, all crafted in-house by the Maison's own cooperage.

    Grape variety

    Pinot Noir (100%).
