Maison Trimbach : Geisberg Grand cru 2019

So deep and complex, yet also brimming with herbal and floral aromas. On the full-bodied palate the monumental depth and great minerality are beautifully illuminated by dangerously fresh acidity that makes the wine lift off at the stunning finish. Surely has great long-term aging potential, though totally delicious now. Drink or hold.

On limestone. Pungent nose with boudoir hints of talc. Very ripe palate entry and almost oily on the end. A note of bitterness on the finish too. Big and powerful. (JR)

The 2019 bouquet highlights the refreshing nature of this grape variety, combined with mineral, floral and fruity nuances within an overall sense of richness. Slightly mellow on the attack, the wine shows an incisive, saline and linear structure. The charming touch on the palate has a unifying, balancing effect, while subtle bitters enhance the finish. A brilliant wine that deserves a little patience on our part.
