Maison Trimbach : Riesling 2023

Friendly notes of star fruit, aloe and melon are edged in smoke, with dried herbs on a fresh, medium-bodied frame. Finely crushed stone brings a cleansing mineral drive. Drink now through 2032.

Light graphite notes glide beneath a crisp core of apple and lime, giving the wine a subtle mineral edge. The palate is clean and focused, offering moderate complexity supported by lively acidity. Well balanced and composed, finishing with good length and clarity.

The 2023 Riesling is the house's biggest production. Depending on the vintage, up to 400,000 bottles are made, blended from sites across Alsace, including grand cru fruit. The nose is a marvel of crunchy green and red apple aromas. It's scented but tenderly so, promising tons of crunch and freshness. The palate delivers this in spades with vivacious freshness and verve on a light, strait-laced and clean-cut bottle—the emblematic house style. The 2023 is beautifully dry and bright with a lip-smacking, lemon-infused finish. (Bone-dry)

The bouquet’s freshness, tinged with flinty notes, goes hand in hand with a fruity expression, with hints of peach and apricot. The attack faithfully echoes the aromatic profile. The wine has richness, but without opulence. It is saline, vibrant, harmonious, and ready to be enjoyed.
