An elegant second wine signed by Château La Lagune

    The Property

Founded in 1587, Château La Lagune is one of the oldest estates in the Médoc. Classified as a Third Grand Cru in 1855, this 72-hectare estate is renowned for producing elegant wines characterized by their finesse and freshness. The Frey family, owners since 2000, have made significant investments both in the vineyard and in the cellars, pursuing a quest for excellence.

    The Vineyard

The terroir of La Lagune, considered the insular model of the Médoc, is composed of light gravel and silica. These soils contribute to the balance and finesse characteristic of these Haut-Médoc wines.

    The Wine

Le Moulin de la Lagune is the Second Wine of Château La Lagune.

    The Vintage

2014 began with a mild and rainy winter, followed by a sunny spring punctuated by showers. The summer, cooler than normal, was followed by a salvaging autumn, dry and warm, allowing excellent maturation of the grapes. The harvest took place under excellent conditions from September 22 to October 11.

    Vinification and Aging

The grapes, harvested by hand, are carefully sorted before vinification. The extraction is carefully controlled to preserve the elegance of the wines. Aging takes place in French oak barrels, renewed by 40% each year, for about 12 months.

    Blend

50% cabernet sauvignon, 49% merlot, 1% petit verdot
