A full-bodied and refined red wine from the Rhône Valley

    The property

An emblematic name of the great wines of the northern Rhône Valley, the House of Paul Jaboulet-Aîné was founded in 1834 in Tain L'Hermitage. The renowned oenologist and winemaker Caroline Frey has been running this illustrious house, owned by the Frey family since 2006. The House of Paul Jaboulet Aîné oversees a vineyard of 125 hectares of vines, spread over major appellations such as Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage, Hermitage, Cornas, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu and Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise.

The Hermitage and Crozes Hermitage vineyard has been biodynamic since 2017.

    The vineyard

The Domaine de Roure by Paul Jaboulet-Aîné is a Crozes-Hermitage wine from a 4.5 hectare terroir. The 40 to 60 year old vines are planted on granitic slopes benefiting from a south/south-west exposure. This estate has been owned by the Jaboulet-Aîné house since 1996.

    Vinification and ageing

The manually harvested grapes undergo rigorous sorting in the plot. Total destemming. Maceration for 3 weeks accompanied by daily pumping over. Malolactic fermentation. Ageing for 12 months in French oak barrels and demi-muids, 20% of which are new.

    Blend

    100% syrah.
