Description
A white wine from the Rhône Valley, captivating in its finesse and aromatic brilliance
The estate
An iconic name among the great wines of the northern Rhône Valley, Maison Paul Jaboulet-Aîné was founded in 1834 in Tain L’Hermitage. Renowned oenologist and winemaker Caroline Frey heads this illustrious house, which has been owned by the Frey family since 2006. Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné tends 125 hectares of vines spread across exceptional appellations such as Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage, Hermitage, Cornas, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu and Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise.
The vineyard
The wines of Condrieu were praised by the Popes of Avignon as early as the 14th century. Over time, their history in France underwent significant transformations. By the early 20th century, a mere ten hectares of vines remained. However, following the recognition of its Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée in 1940, the vineyard enjoyed a revival that has made it one of the country's most remarkable white crus today.
