Located in Provence in the commune of Sainte-Anne du Castellet, the Bastide Blanche estate was part of the vineyards attached to Château de Castillon until the beginning of the 20th century.
At that time owned by the Monerie de Cabrens family, the Château de Castillon lands were sold in 1946 to an industrialist from Belfort.
In 1972, Baptistin Bronzo bought the Bastide Blanche estate with the ambition of producing great Bandol appellation wines. His sons, Michel and Louis Bronzo, two passionate winemakers, began a major restructuring, replanting and expansion of the vineyard.
From 8 hectares in 1972, the vineyard of this family estate, whose third generation has joined the business, now covers an area of 50 hectares. The wide variety of soils typical of the appellation (red clay, clay-limestone and gravelly soils) contribute to the signature of these wines, which are recognised for their quality and their great ageing potential.
Certified Organic, the Domaine de la Bastide Blanche pays the utmost respect to the environment both in the management of the vineyard and during vinification (no use of synthetic pesticides, manual harvesting to preserve the quality of the fruit, vinification without added yeast).
The vineyard of this flagship estate in Provence is made up of a dozen varieties, including Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, but also Ugni Blanc and Clairette.
Opulent and refined, the red wines harmoniously combine power and finesse with ripe, bright fruit. The tannic structure, of great refinement, develops over the course of the evolution of these wines to express all their complexity.
Balanced and beautifully fresh, the white wines, which have contributed greatly to the reputation of the estate, delight with their bouquet of rare complexity, their deep structure and their liveliness.
