    An exceptional Tyrolean apricot eau-de-vie from Austria’s Wachau

    Rochelt, Austrian eau-de-vie excellence since the 1970s

    Founded in the 1980s by Günter Rochelt, a former chef, this family-run Tyrolean distillery embodies the excellence of Austrian eau-de-vie. Based in Fritzens, in the heart of the Alps, Rochelt released its first production in 1991 after twenty years of experimentation. Now run by Alexander Rainer, the founder’s son-in-law, the house continues age-old methods unchanged for three centuries: double distillation, natural fermentation, and rigorous selection requiring up to 80 kg of fruit per liter. Its emerald-green bottles, filled by hand, and its fully artisanal approach set this family distillery apart, now served in the world’s finest restaurants.

    Abricot 2017: an artisanal eau-de-vie crafted in the Tyrolean tradition

    Rochelt Abricot 2017 is made exclusively from fruit sourced from Austria’s Wachau region, renowned for the exceptional quality of its apricots. Only the Klosterneuburger and Ungarische Beste varieties are selected, hand-picked solely at full ripeness to ensure optimal aromatic concentration.

    Production follows traditional Tyrolean methods to the letter: natural fermentation without any additives, followed by double distillation. The high standards of the Rochelt House require up to 80 kg of fruit to obtain a single liter of this exceptional eau-de-vie. After distillation, the spirit is aged for a minimum of seven years in an open glass demijohn to reach full maturity.

    100% pure fruit and 100% natural, this eau-de-vie is never filtered in order to preserve the full breadth of its aromatic qualities. Each emerald-green bottle is filled by hand, reflecting the fully artisanal approach that defines the Rochelt distillery.
