    The palate reveals magnificent aromas with a very precise fruit expression. Spicy bitter notes blend harmoniously with almond and wild aromatic herbs. Hazelnut flavors enrich a dense, juicy whole. Despite its high alcohol level, the eau-de-vie is marked by great smoothness, with power and softness in perfect harmony. The finish offers a lovely length on the palate.

    Founded in the 1970s by Günter Rochelt in Fritzens, in Austrian Tyrol, this artisanal distillery began marketing its spirits in 1991. An exceptional Austrian eau-de-vie, Rochelt is now led by Alexander Rainer, the founder’s son-in-law, who upholds an uncompromising approach focused on absolute quality. The house stands out for its traditional double distillation, natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and a rigorous selection of fruit at optimal ripeness. Requiring up to 80 kg of fruit per liter of “heart cut,” these Tyrolean eaux-de-vie comprise around twenty cuvées and are acclaimed by the world’s finest gastronomic establishments.

    The artisanal production of the Griotte 2009

    The eau-de-vie of griotte Rochelt 2009 is produced according to the Tyrolean tradition of double distillation. The distillery uses exclusively griottes grown in Western Styria, selected at full ripeness and hand-picked. This rigorous selection ensures optimal fruit quality.

    The musts ferment naturally with no additives or chemicals, thus preserving the fruit’s authenticity. Up to 80 kg of griottes are needed to obtain 1 liter of the precious “heart cut.” The eau-de-vie then ages for many long years without being filtered, preserving the full integrity of its aromatic and flavor qualities. This uncompromising artisanal approach makes this Griotte 2009 an exceptional eau-de-vie, representative of Tyrolean craftsmanship.
