Cherry, wild strawberry and a subtle vegetal hint give this 2025 vintage a remarkable freshness combined with lovely suppleness.
A fruity and delicate red wine from Burgundy
The estate
Established in the late 2000s, the Au Pied du Mont Chauve estate represents a meticulous selection of the finest parcels owned by the Picard family in Burgundy. Now led by Francine Picard, the estate takes its name from the famous nickname of the Montrachet hill. It stands out for its deep commitment to biodynamic viticulture, intensified since 2019, in order to enhance the expression of its prestigious terroirs. A true conductor, Francine Picard crafts wines of great precision here, favouring finesse and authenticity.
The vineyard
Stretching over 35 hectares, including 15 dedicated to red grape varieties, this Burgundy vineyard benefits from an ideal cool climate. The vines, around 50 years old, thrive on a complex mosaic of soils made up of limestone, clay and marl. Every parcel is rigorously cultivated according to the principles of biodynamics, promoting soil health and the resilience of the plants in the face of climatic hazards.
The vintage
The 2024 growing season proved particularly demanding, marked by relentless spring rains, a lack of sunshine and strong mildew pressure. Localised hailstorms and uneven flowering significantly reduced yields. Nevertheless, thanks to biodynamic practices reinforcing the resistance of the vines, the harvested grapes were able to reach a maturity that preserved great freshness and lovely purity.
Grape variety
100% Pinot Noir.
