This graceful rosé Champagne layers a rich base of roasted almond, toast and smoke accents with nectarine and pureed raspberry fruit, oyster shell, blood orange zest and chalk notes. Fresh and fluid on the palate, with a creamy mousse consisting of fine, pinprick-sized bubbles. Long, rich finish. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Drink now through 2030. 750 cases made.

Decanter
Pale salmon pink in the glass, with very pretty floral aromas and delicate hints of autolysis. This progresses to delicate fruits and a zesty, crisp, crunchy pomelo, lime and grapefruit pith freshness, with clean, linear length. Initially this fresh, youthful character dominates but, as with earlier editions, the wine benefits from time in the glass (or decanting) as it opens up to reveal creamier, more mature fruit flavours of red berries, red apples and complex notes of spice, herbs, aniseed and a touch of orange. More vibrant and freshly youthful than ER1 and ER2, with layers of complexity beneath the surface.

75% Chardonnay (some of it coming from Rodolphe Péters' perpetual reserve), 25% Pinot Noir. ER3 is based on the 2018 vintage. Disgorged in May 2022 (three years sur lattes). Dosage 4.5 g/l. Made as a joint project with the Perrin family and Rodolphe Péters. The Trivet team paired Miraval's champagne with gougères filled with lemon-zested goat's curd, and it really was spot on. It's a rather rich, showy, weighty wine. Opulent and intensely ripe fruit, more sweetness than you'd expect, considering the low dosage. But it doesn't justify the price tag (which ranges from £180 to £350 a bottle). (TC)

Light to medium pink colour with a copper hue and small vivid bubbles. Pure nose offering chalky notes, lemongrass, roasted hazelnut, fresh raspberry, ginger and buttery pastry notes. The palate shows good volume and roundness with a finely integrated mousse, layers of red-fruited raspberry notes paired with chardonnay-driven chalk, citrus and nuttiness, good flavour intensity with mouth-watering freshness from a low dosage level, good substance and layers with a very fine persistence and finish.

Based on the 2018 vintage, Fleur de Miraval's NV Exclusivement Rosé 3 offers up inviting aromas of orange oil, freshly baked bread, buttery pastry, nectarine and dried white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and charming, it's fleshy and seamless, with an elegant mousse, bright acids and a saline finish.

A very pale-colored rosé Champagne, this has a touch of red fruits and a light texture. A tiny production for actor Brad Pitt who owns Château Miraval in Provence, the wine is generous with a fine edge of cookie and spice. Drink now.

This is a stunning new release from Fleur de Miraval. The best year. Aromas of peaches and flowers with cotton candy and citrus. Hints of cherries and other berries. It’s full-bodied with very fine bubbles and a creamy texture. It’s fluffy on the palate, like feathers floating through the air. Salted caramel and sweet pastry in the aftertaste. Some earthy, soil character, too. So complex. This has been made from a base of the 2018 vintage. 25% pinot noir and 75% chardonnay grand cru (50% is proprietary reserve blends from 2007 onwards, and 25% is from opened bottles of blanc de blancs Champagne, dating back to 1998) This is really unique. Dry at the end with 4g dosage. About 20,000 bottles. Drink now or hold.

The NV Brut Rosé ER 3 (2018 base), the third edition from Fleur de Miraval, is super-expressive right out of the gate. A powerful, resonant Rosé, the ER 3 offers up scents of dried cherry, mint, orange peel, ginger and crushed flowers. The style here is one of aromatic and flavor complexity, achieved through an unusual blend built on 50% Rosé de Saignée (2018 vintage), 25% still Pinot Noir (from Vertus) and 25% perpetual reserve that the young winery created through the re-opening and blending of older wines sourced from other properties. It’s an intriguing approach, that is certain. Dosage is 5 grams per liter.

A pale peachy salmon color, the NV Champagne Fleur De Miraval ER3 Brut Rose is very pleasing but a bit more inward at this stage, with tropical but very refined notes of orange pith, a hint of passionfruit, and white peach. Chalky earth also shines through, and it has a creamy mousse, but not quite like that of the 4th edition. Medium-bodied, it’s more energetic and lively compared to its younger sibling and has a bit more bitter citrus on the finish. Drink 2025-2040. It’s made from 2018 Pinot Noir along with perpetual reserve from 2007 to 2017.
