Characteristics and tasting tips for Reflexion R.022 by Lallier
Tasting
Colour
This white wine reveals a pale yellow hue, brightened by delicate jade highlights that suggest great freshness.
Nose
The bouquet opens with aromas of white flowers such as acacia and hawthorn, underscored by delicate lemon. With aeration, notes of vine peach and apple emerge, complemented by subtle touches of hazelnut and acacia honey.
Palate
The attack is rich and intense, offering a warm roundness. The mid-palate brings finesse and freshness before stretching into a long, structured finish with lovely persistence.
Food and wine pairings
Ideal as an aperitif with oysters or white fish tartare, this wine also pairs beautifully with shellfish, grilled fish such as turbot, or roast poultry with mushrooms. It is equally well suited to vegetarian dishes and pressed cheeses such as Comté.
Serving and cellaring
To fully appreciate Reflexion R.022 Brut non-vintage, serve it between 8 and 10°C as an aperitif, and between 10 and 12°C with a meal, ideally in tulip-shaped glasses. With its fine structure, it can be enjoyed now or cellared for a few years to develop richer aromas of dried fruit and pastry.
A pure, contemporary expression of the Champagne terroir by Maison Lallier
The estate
Founded in 1906 by René Lallier, Maison Lallier has historically been rooted in Aÿ, in the heart of France's Champagne region. The house draws on around fifteen hectares of its own vineyards. Renowned for its strong environmental commitment and a style that combines purity, freshness, intensity and depth, the estate now belongs to the Campari group. General management and winemaking are overseen by cellar master Dominique Demarville, who upholds the brand's heritage while steering it towards ever more sustainable viticulture.
The vineyard
The grapes come from exceptional terroirs spread across several crus in Champagne. The Chardonnay draws its tension from the chalky soils of the Côte des Blancs, Montgueux and the Côtes de Sézanne. The Pinot Noir is grown on the Montagne de Reims, in Aÿ and in the Côte des Bar, while the Meunier comes from the Vallée de la Marne and the Montagne de Reims. The estate favours sustainable viticulture, certified HVE and VDC, with practices that promote biodiversity and the natural upkeep of the soils.
The blend
This cuvée is based on 80% of the 2022 harvest, a particularly sunny vintage that yielded grapes of remarkable ripeness and intensity. The blend is completed by 20% reserve wines from 2019, 2020 and 2021, which bring complexity and depth.
Winemaking and ageing
Reflexion R.022 Brut non-vintage is crafted through a fragmented vinification in small stainless steel tanks and barrels, using the house's own yeasts. Malolactic fermentation is precisely managed to preserve the wine's tension. The wine is then aged on the lees for a minimum of 36 months in the historic cellars, followed by at least three months' rest after disgorgement to perfect its balance.
Grape varieties
52% Chardonnay, 38% Pinot Noir, 10% Meunier.
