The estate
Founded in 1720 by Edme Champy, a cooper in Beaune, the Champy house is the oldest négociant in Burgundy. Housed in listed 18th-century buildings in Beaune, it currently farms around 21 hectares in renowned Côte de Beaune appellations such as Pommard, Beaune, and Corton-Charlemagne. The estate has been led by Dimitri Bazas since 2014 and has been owned by the AdVini group since 2016.
The vineyard
The En Caradeux site is one of the seven Premiers Crus of Pernand-Vergelesses, a Burgundy appellation in the north of the Côte de Beaune. This very hilly winegrowing area, planted since the Middle Ages, stretches across the slopes of Aloxe-Corton and Savigny-lès-Beaune. The diversity of soils and exposures gives each site its own identity. The white Premiers Crus of Pernand-Vergelesses cover a total of 17.60 hectares, spread across seven sites.
