The estate

Founded in 1979, Domaine Bruno Clair stands as an essential reference within its terroir. Located in Marsannay-la-Côte, this prestigious estate spans 27 hectares spread across eight villages. Today, the estate is still run by Bruno Clair and his wife Isabelle, supported by their children Edouard, Arthur and Margaux, who are taking over the reins. With an environmentally respectful approach and great technical precision, the producer crafts authentic wines that faithfully express the richness of their terroirs, confirming its standing among the region's winemaking elite.

The vineyard

This wine comes from a 1.14-hectare plot located in the Savigny-Les-Beaune appellation, within the Climat des Hauts-Jarrons. Facing east on a gentle slope, the vines thrive on soils composed of clay and stones. The distinctive feature of this terroir lies in the exceptional age of its vines, originally planted in 1902. The estate favours sustainable viticulture, with manual ploughing, the use of organic compost and Guyot-Poussard pruning to preserve the longevity of the plants.

The vintage

2022 stands out for climatic conditions that favoured a remarkable natural concentration in the grapes. This growing cycle produced berries with lovely ripeness and an ideal balance.

Winemaking and aging

The Savigny-Les-Beaune 1er Cru "La Dominode" 2022 is crafted using a minimalist approach. Fermentation takes place in open wooden vats with indigenous yeasts for around fifteen days. To preserve the wine's tension, the proportion of whole clusters was limited to 20%. Aging then takes place over a period of 18 to 20 months in French oak barrels, around 40% of which are new, allowing the structure to be refined without masking the expression of the terroir.
