Description
A Puligny-Montrachet from Burgundy with a precise, mineral character
The estate
The Domaine des Lambrays was founded in 1868 by Albert-Sébastien Rodier in Morey-Saint-Denis, in the very heart of the Côte de Nuits. Part of the LVMH group since 2014 and led by Jacques Devauges, this 8.70-hectare estate is home to the largest clos in Burgundy owned by a single proprietor. Its origins date back to 1365, and its annual production ranges between 3,000 and 4,000 cases.
The vineyard
The Clos du Cailleret is a wall-enclosed parcel of 0.3660 hectare, nestled within the Le Cailleret climat in Puligny-Montrachet, which spans a total of 3.3301 hectares. The Chardonnay vines, planted in 1962, give this plot the status of very old vines. The highly limestone-rich nature of this premier cru is the source of the minerality that defines the wine.
Grape variety
This Puligny-Montrachet 1er cru "Clos du Cailleret" 2024 from Domaine des Lambrays is crafted from Chardonnay.
