The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose shows fine tension, an airy feel, and delicate spicy, toasty aromas. On first sniff, there are notes of grey pepper, licorice, clove, with hints of toasted wood and toasted hazelnut, a resinous touch of pine sap in the background, as well as a hint of cornflower. There are also tangy fruits (raspberry, red cherry, dried cranberries in the background, blackcurrant), a touch of Morello cherry, and a subtle minerality. The palate is lively, chiselled and tangy, with tension and precision. It delivers tangy fruit flavors (red cherry, cranberries, crushed raspberry, blackcurrant), Morello cherry, a sappy note, along with a fine toasty side (toasted hazelnut, toasted oak in the background) and spiciness (licorice, nutmeg, white pepper), especially on the finish. The tannins are finely firm, perceptible, and well-built. Lovely mouthwatering acidity, freshness, and a pleasant bitterness on the long-lasting finish.
