A Ladoix Village from Domaine du Château de Meursault, Between Stony Slopes and Burgundian Freshness
The Estate
Domaine du Château de Meursault took on its current form in 1973, when André Boisseaux purchased the château and restructured the entire vineyard. Since December 2012, the estate has belonged to the Halley family, under the leadership of Olivier Halley. Located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, in Burgundy, the estate covers 67 hectares farmed organically, spread across several prestigious appellations, making it one of the region's emblematic estates today.
The Vineyard
The climat “Les Chaillots” lies in the commune of Ladoix, at the junction of the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits, at the foot of the Corton hill. Set midway up the slope, below the Premier Cru vineyards, this terroir owes its name to the stony nature of its soil, which promotes good drainage. Like the rest of the estate's vineyard, this plot is farmed organically, with particular attention paid to biodiversity and soil life.
Vinification and Ageing
To produce the Ladoix Village “Chaillot” 2025, the grapes are hand-harvested and then optically sorted so that only the healthiest berries are selected. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out gently and steadily, with a preference for pumping over rather than punching down, allowing for a measured extraction of tannins. The wine is then aged in oak barrels on its lees, following the estate's usual practices.
Grape Variety
This wine is made from Pinot Noir, the emblematic grape variety of the red wines of the Côte de Beaune.
