Domaine du Château de Meursault : Pommard 1er cru "Clos des Epenots" 2017

A Premier Cru still on its tannic reserve, it puts on its stockings in Pommard and slips on its jacket in Beaune. It has real aging potential.

The nose is elegant, aromatic, and offers a touch of richness, a very lovely fine grain and a racy power. It reveals notes of fleshy boysenberry, fleshy strawberry and, more subtly, violet, combined with hints of small blue fruits, nutmeg, tonka bean, as well as very discreet touches of nutmeg, Brazilian pepper and crushed hazelnut. The palate is elegant, delicate, and offers a lovely fine grain and precision. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy boysenberry and fleshy/juicy red berries, combined with fine touches of fleshy/juicy/tangy cherry, as well as hints of small blue fruits, cornflower, liquorice candy and chocolate. Good length and lovely persistence.
