La Chablisienne : Chablis Grand cru "Les Preuses" 2015

The 2015 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses comes from 30-year-old vines and spent 20 months on the fine lees in stainless steel and oak barrel. It has a gorgeous bouquet, with vibrant apple blossom and granite scents that are precise and intense. The palate is well defined with neatly integrated oak, the acidity very well judged and the second half delivering a very harmonious, lightly spiced, almost Asian-inspired finish. There is plenty of character in this Les Preuses, and it comes highly recommended.

Subdued apple and apricot nose, with a light toastiness. Rich and creamy on the attack with impressive depth of fruit, though it lacks a little brightness and tension. Nutty notes lead into a finish of moderate length.

Notes of spices, citrus and talc enhance Les Preuses, whose dry extract and delicate final bitters counterbalance its sun-kissed character. It will become purer and more mineral with age.
