Description
A Franco-American Corn Whiskey by MAISON FAW
MAISON FAW: the art of blending in the Charente region
MAISON FAW is a recently established spirits brand whose blending and bottling operations take place in France, at the Distillerie de Chevanceaux in the Cognac region. Founded by three partners, two French and one American, the House relies on the technical expertise of its Master Blender, Brendan Coyle, to craft its creations. MAISON FAW stands out for its transatlantic approach, combining local savoir-faire with American influences to create Franco-American whiskies from original blends. Its production facilities in Charente allow it to finish spirits that meet the region's quality standards while exploring new grain categories.
French Corn Whiskey: a unique transatlantic blend
MAISON FAW's French Corn Whiskey is a Blended Whiskey that embodies a genuine synergy between France and the United States. It is characterised by a hybrid grain composition. The dominant raw material is corn, grown predominantly on French soil. This grain forms the defining base of the spirit, drawing inspiration from the American Corn Whiskey tradition while asserting its local roots.
To add complexity to this blend, Master Blender Brendan Coyle selected Bourbon and rye from the state of Indiana in the United States, as well as malted barley. The various distillates that make up this blend are aged for 3 to 8 years before being meticulously combined. The final stages of production, including blending and bottling, are carried out at the Distillerie de Chevanceaux in Charente. Presented in a classic upright 70 cl bottle, this spirit lends a solid structure to this unconventional blend.
This non-chill-filtered Blended Whiskey is bottled at 44.6% ABV.
