Characteristics and tasting tips for Hibiki 21 Year from Suntory Whisky

    Tasting

This Japanese whisky stands out for its rare elegance, combining richness and subtlety. It reveals intense notes of spice, chocolate and smoke, leading to a refined finish.

The subtlety of a Japanese whisky

    Suntory Whisky, a remarkable distillery

The history of the Suntory Whisky group is tied to the dream of one man, Shinjiro Torii. A pioneer with a passion for wines and spirits, he launched his own wine in 1907 and, in 1923, founded the Yamazaki distillery, recognised today as the oldest in Japan.

The Suntory group went on to expand its activities and gain international renown. After acquiring Château Lagrange in 1983, Suntory acquired the French group Orangina Schweppes, then Ribena and Lucozade, two British beverage brands, in 2013, followed in 2014 by Beam, a benchmark name in spirits.

Hibiki 21 Year, an exceptional bottle

Launched in 1989, it comes in an iconic twenty-four-faceted bottle, a nod to the twenty-four Japanese seasons. This Blended Whisky is aged in Japanese Mizunara oak casks and reaches full maturity thanks to the expertise of Suntory's master blenders.
