    Service and storage

Endowed with remarkable ageing potential, this Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2024 will evolve favourably in the cellar over several decades.

The authentic expression of a great Châteauneuf-du-Pape terroir

    The estate

Officially founded in 1997 in Lourmarin, Tardieu Laurent has established itself as an essential reference in Rhône Valley micro-négoce. Initiated by Michel Tardieu's passion, this structure stands out for its rigorous selection of grapes from partner winegrowers. Today, the estate is entirely owned by the founding family. Michel Tardieu runs the domain with his wife Michèle, supported by their children Bastien and Camille, who continue this unique expertise combining respect for terroir with highly precise ageing.

    The vineyard

The grapes destined for this Châteauneuf-du-Pape come from highly qualitative geographical areas of the appellation, such as La Crau, Les Gardioles, La Janasse, Coste Froide and Bois Dauphin. These terroirs are characterised by the presence of famous rolled pebbles as well as sandy soils that bring great finesse. The selected vines are exceptionally old, with century-old Grenache vines, while the Syrah and Mourvèdre range between fifty and eighty years old, ensuring naturally controlled yields and optimal concentration.

    The vintage

The year was particularly demanding and unusual, marked by capricious weather conditions. An abnormally cool spring led to episodes of frost as well as coulure, particularly affecting the Grenache. Faced with these weather-related challenges, constant presence in the vineyards and great patience were required to bring the berries to ideal maturity.

    Winemaking and aging

For the production of this Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2024, about a third of the harvest is kept as whole bunches to provide a fine structure. The wine then undergoes meticulous aging, beginning with eight months in oak barrels from Allier and Tronçais (new, one-wine and two-wine barrels). This stage is followed by an additional twelve months of aging in large oak vats. To preserve its full integrity and complexity, bottling takes place without any fining or filtration.

    Grape varieties

    Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre.
