Description
A white Saint-Joseph from Tardieu-Laurent, a reflection of the granitic terroirs of the Northern Rhône
The estate
Founded in 1996 in Lourmarin, in the Vaucluse, by Michel Tardieu, Tardieu-Laurent has established itself as a benchmark négociant-éleveur in the Rhône Valley. Now run by the Tardieu family, with Michel surrounded by his children Bastien and Camille, the house selects old-vine parcels across all the Rhône appellations and ages the wines with great care, drawing on Burgundian methods. This philosophy gives its cuvées, including this Saint-Joseph "Vieilles Vignes", an identity recognised by international critics.
The vineyard
The grapes for this Saint-Joseph "Vieilles Vignes" come from parcels in several emblematic communes of the appellation, along the right bank of the Rhône, between Chavanay and Mauves by way of Saint-Jean-de-Muzols. These steep slopes, planted on granitic soils, are home to old vines, carefully tended to preserve the balance and freshness sought in this white cuvée.
Grape varieties
This Saint-Joseph "Vieilles Vignes" 2025 from Tardieu Laurent is made from a blend of Marsanne and Roussanne, two emblematic grape varieties of the white wines of the northern Rhône Valley.
