Food and Wine Pairing
This rosé pairs wonderfully with Mediterranean specialities such as tapenade, gazpacho or grilled vegetables. It also accompanies seafood brilliantly, such as sea bass with fennel or grilled squid, as well as fine meats like beef carpaccio or lamb skewers. For cheese, a fresh goat's cheese is ideal, while a cherry clafoutis will make a perfect end to the meal.
Serving and Cellaring
For optimal enjoyment, Villa Madeleine Rosé 2024 is best served at a temperature between 7 and 12°C. This wine will be fully appreciated in its youth and can be kept until around 2027.
The Elegance and Freshness of a Great Bandol Rosé
The Estate
Founded in 2002 in the South-East of France, Maison Hecht & Bannier is the creator of the Villa Madeleine range. Now run by its two founders, Gregory Hecht and François Bannier, this négociant business stands out for its rigorous approach and its long-term partnerships with local winegrowers. A pioneer in its region, the estate has been certified organic since 2007 and was awarded the prestigious B Corp label in 2022, recognising its deep commitment to responsible, environmentally respectful viticulture.
The Vineyard
Located in the heart of the Bandol appellation, the vineyard enjoys an exceptional Mediterranean climate, bathed in generous sunshine. The vines thrive on predominantly limestone soils, naturally cooled and cleansed by the breath of the mistral. This privileged terroir, farmed according to organic principles, allows the grapes to reach optimal ripeness while retaining beautiful liveliness.
Vinification and Ageing
To preserve all the aromatic freshness of Villa Madeleine Rosé 2024, the grapes are harvested at night, between three and nine in the morning. In the cellar, the grapes undergo a gentle direct pressing. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at rigorously controlled temperatures. Grenache and Syrah are vinified together to harmonise their profiles. The final blend is made in January, followed by bottling in April.
Grape Varieties
This wine is made from a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Rolle.
