    Wine Spectator

    James Molesworth

White peach and lemon peel notes mingle out front in this slightly exotic and very seductive white. A flash of shortbread caresses the finish, allowing white ginger and yellow apple notes to glide in for added range and length. Everything ripples, with finely beaded acidity. Beautiful and distinctive. Drink now through 2028.

    Decanter

Grapefruit, dried apricots, pineapple with lemon peel and lime give a clean, crisp aromatic expression. At 75% of the blend, Sauvignon Blanc’s characteristics of lemongrass, apple and herbaceousness come through with a lively, vibrant energy, offset by Semillon’s viscous, creamy honeysuckle and vanilla complexity, bringing weight and a soft sugary hit, showing that the grapes were slightly affected by botrytis and the wine’s 7 g/L residual sugar. Aged in 80% ex-Yquem barrels.

This is an exotic dry white with dried mango and pineapple and some slate throughout. Full-bodied with dense, rich fruit and a salty edge, which, together with extremely energetic acidity, really drive the finish. Drink now or hold.

A splash of freshness in the glass, the wine pops with loads of just-squeezed grapefruit, lemon peel, vanilla, lime, passion fruit, tangerine, and honeysuckle. Vibrant and juicy on the palate, all this needs is fresh seafood to make a perfect pairing.

Very early harvest, as it began on August 16, 2017. Pale yellow. A bouquet marked by citrus and notes of passion fruit. Lots of freshness; the nose invites a sip. On the palate, the wine combines charm and breed. Beautiful aromatic expression. The wine is lively, dry, and racy. It’s in great shape, brimming with energy and built to age. A great success with a saline touch on the finish.

Logo on the cork: AL Pale color. Intense, delicate nose with ripe fruit and a slight Sauvignon-like character. Soft, pleasant palate with a generally discreet expression. Medium length.

    Description

The vivacity and elegance of a dry white Bordeaux wine

    The estate

Located south of Bordeaux, the Château d'Yquem is one of the most beautiful references among the great wines of Sauternes. This legendary Premier Cru Classé Supérieur enjoys an exceptional terroir and gives birth to wines that are sought after worldwide.

    The vineyard

Château d’Yquem is an extraordinary place, rich with a hundred hectares of vineyards planted on a mosaic of gravelly-sandy terroirs.

    The wine

Produced under the Dry White Bordeaux appellation, Y is an exceptional wine, limited to a production of only 10,000 bottles per vintage. Coming from the same prestigious vineyards as Château d'Yquem, it stands out for its specific harvest and production method.

    Blend

Y 2017 is the result of a blend of sauvignon blanc and sémillon.
