    Description

Characteristics and Tasting Notes for Bruno Colin's Bourgogne Aligoté 2024

    Tasting Notes

    Appearance
Pale, pure and brilliant in colour, this wine displays delicate green highlights.

    Nose
Highly expressive and remarkably pure, the nose exudes wonderful freshness through aromas of white fruits and white flowers, subtly complemented by hints of dried fruit.

    Palate
The palate is seductive, offering a profile that is both round and dynamic. The elegance and generosity of the fruit are perfectly balanced by a mineral backbone that carries the wine through to a particularly lively, energetic finish.

    Food and Wine Pairings

Ideal as an aperitif, this wine also pairs beautifully with seafood, delicate white fish, poultry in a light sauce, or fresh cheeses.

The Freshness and Minerality of a Burgundy Wine

    The Estate

Born in 2003 following the division of the family estate, Domaine Bruno Colin released its first vintage in 2004. Located in Chassagne-Montrachet, at the heart of Burgundy, the estate is now run by Bruno Colin. The vineyard spans approximately nine hectares, divided into around fifty micro-plots spread across five prestigious villages of the Côte de Beaune. Here, the winemaker cultivates a philosophy centred on purity and the authentic expression of his terroirs, favouring environmentally friendly methods to craft wines of great precision.

    The Vineyard

This Bourgogne wine comes from a 0.80-hectare plot ideally situated in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet. The vines, planted in 1981, 2000 and 2023, thrive on clay-limestone soils typical of the region. The vineyard is farmed according to organic principles, including mechanical soil work through ploughing, in order to preserve biodiversity and the vitality of the terroir.

    The Vintage

2024 was marked by particularly challenging weather conditions. The growing season had to contend with cold temperatures, heavy spring and summer rainfall, and significant mildew pressure. Despite these climatic challenges, which led to low yields, the harvest produced grapes of exceptional quality, yielding musts with remarkable freshness and tension.

    Winemaking and Ageing

The grapes are hand-harvested, with a rigorous selection carried out directly in the vineyard to keep only the finest bunches. The winemaking process for this Bourgogne Blanc 2024 continues with careful ageing for twelve months in 350-litre oak barrels, including 15 to 20% new oak. The wine then rests for four to six months in tank before bottling.

    Grape Variety

    100% Chardonnay.
