A racé and refined Premier Cru from Chassagne-Montrachet

    The estate

Created in 2004 following the division of the family domaine Michel Colin-Deleger, Domaine Bruno Colin now spans 8.5 hectares in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. Driven by Bruno Colin, a committed winemaker, the estate highlights the exceptional terroirs of Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Santenay, and Dezize-les-Maranges, with particular attention to the Premier Crus of Chassagne. The winemaking philosophy focuses on achieving balance and purity, favoring measured aging that enhances the minerality characteristic of great Burgundian Chardonnays.

    The vineyard

"Les Chaumées" is a cuvée from a 0.42-hectare terroir located at the northern edge of Chassagne-Montrachet, on the border of Saint-Aubin and above the Premier Cru "Les Vergers". The name "Chaumées" derives from "chaume", referring to land that was once fallow. The clay-limestone soil hosts vines planted in 1956, 1988, and 2003. Environmentally respectful viticulture emphasizes mechanical soil work without herbicides and manual harvesting with meticulous sorting in the vineyard, ensuring optimal grape quality.

    Winemaking and aging

The grapes are hand-harvested and rigorously sorted. Winemaking is followed by 12 months of aging in 350-liter barrels, 15 to 20% of which are new oak, for a subtle integration of the wood. A resting period of 4 to 6 months in tank refines the wine before bottling, allowing the terroir’s typicity to be precisely expressed while preserving the singular freshness of the estate’s wines.

    Grape variety

    100% Chardonnay.
