A vintage Champagne of great elegance by Boizel

    The estate
Founded in 1834 by Auguste and Marie Boizel, the House is historically located on the famous Avenue de Champagne in Épernay. Drawing on a legacy passed down through six generations, this emblematic brand cultivates its own vineyard of approximately 7 hectares, complemented by carefully sourced grapes from partner winegrowers. Now part of the Lanson-BCC group, which is its owner, the House nonetheless retains a strong family identity. It stands out for its constant pursuit of finesse and elegance, crafting vintage cuvées only in exceptional years and preserving its oldest bottles in a collection known as Le Trésor.

    The vineyard
The grapes destined for this cuvée come from exceptional Champagne terroirs. The Pinot Noir grapes are meticulously selected in the prestigious villages of Mailly, Ambonnay and Vertus, located on the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs. The Chardonnay grapes come from the grands crus of Cramant, Mesnil-sur-Oger and Chouilly. These renowned chalky soils give the berries optimal concentration, a well-structured framework and great freshness.

    The vintage
The 2018 year was marked by overall very favourable climatic conditions in the region. This mild weather allowed the grapes to reach full and optimal ripeness, yielding a generous harvest of exceptional quality.

    Winemaking and aging
The creation of the Grand Vintage 2018 relies on precise technical choices aimed at preserving the purity of the fruit. Following vinification, the wine undergoes an extended ageing of five years on the lees at the heart of the House's cellars, encouraging the development of its aromatic complexity. The dosage is then meticulously adjusted to 5 g/L, a moderate level that maintains the tension and vivacity of the cuvée.

    Grape varieties
This blend is composed of 65% Pinot Noir and 35% Chardonnay.
