A 2013 vintage in Champagne with bright citrus notes

    The estate

Founded in 1843 in Reims by Joseph Krug, the Krug House has embodied Champagne excellence for over 180 years. Owned by the LVMH group since 1999, it is led by Olivier Krug, the sixth generation of the family, alongside President Manuel Reman and Cellar Master Julie Cavil. The House stands out for its exclusive production of prestige cuvées, crafted according to its founding philosophy: to create the best Champagne every year.

    The vineyard

The Krug House vineyard includes two exceptional clos: Clos du Mesnil, spanning more than 15 hectares planted with chardonnay, and Clos d'Ambonnay, covering just 0.68 hectare of pinot noir. These outstanding plots contribute to the crafting of Champagnes of remarkable quality.

    The vintage

The year 2013 in Champagne was marked by a long, harsh winter followed by a very wet spring. These distinctive weather conditions left their imprint on the wine, with the harvest taking place in autumn in cool, rainy weather. This vintage tells the story of the exceptional circumstances that shaped the year.

    Vinification and aging

Krug 2013 benefited from more than ten years of aging in the cellar, allowing the Champagne to develop aromatic complexity and a remarkable structure. This extended maturation gives this cuvée its unique character and depth.

    Grape varieties

    Pinot noir (41%)
    Chardonnay (38%)
