The NV Champagne Grand Cru Blanc De Blancs Table Ronde Extra Brut comes from the villages of Cramant, Avize, and Chouilly and is based on the 2017 vintage, with 20% reserve wine. Pouring a medium yellow hue, it opens on the nose to ripe aromas of white peach, bread dough, dewy flowers, and lemon candies. The palate sets itself apart, with its mineral texture driving throughout this medium- to full-bodied effort, with an energetic spine of acidity to balance it out, and a zesty mousse. It offers a clean and refreshing feel and should continue to improve over the next few years. Drink 2025–2035.

The aromatic profile captivates with a pleasing, accomplished chardonnay that combines maturity and freshness. The wine is deep, ripe and mineral. This is a precise, well-poised cuvée with a creamy, sapid juice. A wine that has the depth and dimension of a grand cru.

    Description

The harmonious expression of a great Champagne terroir in an exceptional cuvée by Lancelot Pienne

    The estate

Founded over 120 years ago, the Champagne Lancelot Pienne House has, from generation to generation, crafted cuvées that express with authenticity and refinement the richness of the Champagne terroir. Drawing on his experience with various houses, Jean-Baptiste Lancelot, a passionate winemaker, decided at the end of World War II to produce his own cuvées. A few years later, the union of one of his sons with Brigitte Pienne gave birth to the Lancelot Pienne house. In a perpetual quest for authenticity and excellence, Lancelot Pienne is a family-run, independent house renowned for the precision and richness of its champagnes, considered “author wines.”

    The vineyard

Historically established in the heart of Champagne, near Cramant, the Lancelot Pienne house oversees an 8.30-hectare vineyard spread across the Côte des Blancs and Vallée de la Marne terroirs.

    The wine

Table Ronde Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru by Lancelot Pienne is a champagne made from a selection of Grands Crus from the Côte des Blancs. The vineyard, averaging 50 years old, is planted on chalky soils.

    Vinification and aging

This cuvée is vinified in small, temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at 18-20°C. 100% malolactic fermentation. The blend consists of 80% of the 2015 harvest with 15-year-old Grands Crus Chardonnays preserved using the Solera system. This champagne is aged for several months in the family house’s chalk cellars. Disgorgement takes place 6 months before release, with a dosage of 3.5 g/liter.

Table Ronde Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru by Lancelot Pienne is the perfect expression of this Champagne house’s style.

    Grape variety

    100% Chardonnay.
