Description

A rare Champagne from the Vallée de la Marne made from a confidential grape variety

The estate

Founded in 1949 by Albert Bergère, this family-run Champagne house draws its roots from a winemaking heritage dating back to 1848. Now managed by Adrien Bergère, oenologist, and Annaëlle Bergère, the Champagne André Bergère estate cultivates 45 hectares spread across the Vallée du Petit Morin (35 hectares), the Côte des Blancs (5 hectares), and Sézanne (5 hectares).

The vineyard

Petit Meslier is a Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature Champagne made from vineyards located in the Mont Saint Père terroir, situated in the Vallée de la Marne in Champagne. The vines thrive on clay-limestone soils that impart the wine with its distinctive mineral structure and freshness.

Winemaking and aging

Produced only in years that allow for optimal grape ripeness, this Brut Nature undergoes vinification and aging on lees for approximately 9 months. This forgotten grape variety is vinified without blending to fully reveal its potential and unique characteristics.

Grape variety

The Petit Meslier Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature from Maison André Bergère is made from 100% petit meslier, one of the seven grape varieties authorized in Champagne.
