Description
Characteristics and tasting advice for Nectar Impérial Moët & Chandon
Tasting
Nose
Generous and rich, the bouquet opens with aromas of tropical fruits such as pineapple and grapefruit, complemented by notes of stone fruits like mirabelle plum and apricot, along with hints of vanilla.
Palate
Creamy and voluptuous, the palate offers a full and succulent texture. This richness is perfectly balanced by vibrant freshness, carried by persistent fruity notes (pineapple, passion fruit, mirabelle plum, apricot, and grapefruit).
Food and wine pairings
This wine pairs wonderfully with rich and spicy dishes (Indian and Chinese cuisine), foie gras, salmon in sweet-and-sour sauce, as well as blue cheeses and desserts such as grilled pineapple and a mango-ginger-chili sorbet.
Service and cellaring
Nectar Impérial was specially crafted to be enjoyed over ice. It is recommended to serve it in a large cocktail-style glass with three large ice cubes, at a temperature of around 45°F.

The estate
Founded in 1743 by Claude Moët in Épernay, the Maison Moët & Chandon has established itself as a true legend in Champagne. Historically linked to Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte and now part of the LVMH group, the estate shines worldwide thanks to its exceptional expertise and strong environmental commitments. With the largest network of underground cellars in the region, Moët & Chandon embodies excellence and celebration on an international scale.
The vineyard
The estate is based on an exceptional Champagne vineyard of more than 1,190 hectares spread across the region’s five main areas. Made up of 50% Grand Cru plots and 25% Premier Cru plots, this terroir rests on chalk and limestone soils dating back to the Cretaceous period. Benefiting from a dual continental and oceanic climate influence, the vines are cultivated with the utmost respect for biodiversity, including the complete elimination of herbicides since 2020 and the development of ecological corridors.
Blend
This non-vintage cuvée is the result of a meticulous blend incorporating 20 to 30% reserve wines from several previous vintages. These reserve wines are carefully selected to bring intensity, richness, and consistency year after year.
Vinification and aging
The vinification of Nectar Impérial takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks in order to preserve the fruit expression and precisely control fermentation. The wine then benefits from 18 months of cellar aging and a minimum of 3 months of aging after disgorgement. Its dosage is 45 g/l.
Grape varieties
Pinot noir (40 to 50%), pinot meunier (30 to 40%), and chardonnay (10 to 20%).
