    Roger Voss

A finely balanced rosé Champagne, this has both great fruit and great texture. The wine is taut, poised between dryness and a richer fruitiness. This is a fine wine, ready to drink.

    Description

Tasting notes and characteristics of Soutiran's Rosé Grand Cru

    Tasting

    Appearance

The wine reveals a pale pink hue, enhanced by delicate salmon highlights.

    Nose

The bouquet is fresh and vibrant, releasing aromas of crushed strawberries and wild red berries, subtly lifted by citrus notes.

    Palate

The palate offers an invigorating freshness wrapped in a velvety texture. Wild strawberry flavours intertwine with citrus touches, all supported by a chalky, saline minerality. The finish, elegantly balanced, combines crisp acidity with a delicate richness.

    Food and wine pairings

Regarded by the estate as the quintessential aperitif champagne, this wine also pairs beautifully with salads featuring tangy goat cheese, light seafood such as pan-seared scallops with citrus, or delicate poultry served with fruit-based sauces. Dishes incorporating blood orange, rhubarb or other tart red fruits will create a perfect harmony.

    Serving and ageing

Thanks to its extended ageing, the Rosé Grand Cru boasts remarkable longevity while delivering optimal freshness right now, following its recent disgorgement.

A Grand Cru champagne of great elegance by Soutiran

    The estate

Officially founded in 1971 by Patrick Soutiran, Soutiran is a family estate located in the heart of Champagne. Today, the third generation, represented by Estelle Blanche and Fabrice Nicolas Soutiran, leads this artisanal property. The estate cultivates a six-hectare vineyard with an environmentally respectful approach. Setting itself apart from the great houses through its traditional methods and minimal intervention, the estate is committed to expressing the full authenticity of its terroir through cuvées that benefit from extended ageing in its chalk cellars.

    The vineyard

The vines stretch across the slopes of the Montagne de Reims, mainly within the exceptional terroir of the village of Ambonnay, classified as a Champagne Grand Cru. The soils, particularly rich in chalk, calcium and magnesium, provide optimal drainage while retaining the moisture needed during dry spells. The estate practises sustainable viticulture, guided by precise soil analyses that enable targeted organic fertilisation, without resorting to chemical products, in order to preserve the health of the vines.

    The blend

This rosé champagne is crafted using the assemblage technique, incorporating a small proportion of red wine into a white wine base. It is built on a base harvest from 2020, judiciously complemented by reserve wines from earlier vintages.

    Winemaking and ageing

True to the estate's philosophy, the Rosé Grand Cru benefits from a low-intervention winemaking approach. Its creation stands out for an extended ageing of five to eight years in the property's chalk cellars, far exceeding the appellation's requirements. The bottles recently released onto the market were disgorged between 2024 and 2025 to guarantee optimal freshness.
