Description
A full-bodied and beautifully lively Saint-Émilion wine
The estate
The Château Bellefont-Belcier tells a story rich in passion and heritage. Since its acquisition in 1889 by the Faure family, this Bordeaux estate has become a true vinicultural flagship, the fruit of constant innovation and meticulous work. In 1994, the company BJL & Partenaires took over the estate, infusing it with new momentum while scrupulously preserving the terroirs' characteristics. In 2017, the vineyard joined Vignobles K by Hong Kong entrepreneur Peter Kwok, thereby continuing its trajectory of excellence.
The vineyard
Nestled on a 13.5-hectare clay-limestone slope, the vineyard benefits from Fronsadais molasse soils, offering a unique terroir to this Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion.
Winemaking and aging
The winemaking, marked by precision, begins with a rigorous harvest selection and immediate placement in a cold room. Parcel-by-parcel vinification is carried out in temperature-controlled concrete and wooden vats, ensuring a gentle extraction of aromas. Barrel aging – 40% new barrels and 30% previously used for one or two wines – completes the construction of this wine, endowing it with the structure, depth and elegance characteristic of the great wines of Saint-Émilion.
Blend
This Château Bellefont-Belcier 2011 is the result of a blend of 70% merlot, 25% cabernet franc and 5% cabernet sauvignon.
