    Description

2011 1er Cru Classe from Barsac

The Chateau Coutet vineyard stretches over 38.5 hectares of enclosed vines. it is located on the exceptional Barsac terroir, the agerage age of the vines is 38. This 2011 vintage is a blend of 75% Semillon, 23% Sauvignon Blanc, and 2% Muscadelle.

The wine displays a beautiful copper-tinted golden colour. The nose directly gives off stewed fruit (apricot, peach), honey and vanilla notes. On aeration, the 2011 Chateau Coutet reveals fresher notes of citrusy zests, especially lemon hints. The full-bodied, round and generous palate combines the fruit strength with a well-mastered and elegant vanilla-flavoured wood. The wine carries a good concentration on the mid-palate. It is then aromatically rich and complex on vanilla, candied exotic fruit notes such as mango and honey which bring unctuousness, enhanced by the finesse of the Sauvignon. The finish is precise, rich with a delicious character and keeps a good fruity freshness.
