    Description

An elegant Premier Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion with beautiful aromatic richness

    The estate

Premier Grand Cru Classé de Saint-Émilion, le Château-Figeac embodies the excellence of Bordeaux’s great wines worldwide. Château-Figeac has been the property of the Manoncourt family for over 120 years.

    The vineyard

Château-Figeac enjoys an exceptional location to the west of the Saint-Émilion appellation, bordering the Pomerol appellation. The estate’s vineyard covers 40 hectares of vines planted on three distinct gravel ridges. Respect for biodiversity, flora and fauna is at the heart of the estate’s commitments.

    The vintage

A rainy autumn was followed by an unusually warm and dry winter. Spring warmth was offset by high humidity, creating conditions conducive to an early vine budbreak two weeks ahead of schedule. Cool, damp spells in April and May increased disease pressure. By mid-May, the early flowering took place under very good conditions. While June was cool, the summer conditions were hot and dry. Strategic vineyard management choices (light leaf thinning, shallow plowing, green harvesting adapted to each vine’s potential) allowed for a gradual development of the vegetative cycle in each plot. Sufficient water reserves thanks to spring rains protected the vineyard from water stress and were essential in refining ripeness. The harvested grapes are of exceptional quality, combining aromatic freshness, texture and density.

    Winemaking and aging

Parcel-specific vinification, sulfur-free, carried out gently to preserve the integrity of the fruit.

    Blend

    Merlot (37 %), Cabernet Sauvignon (31 %) and Cabernet Franc (32 %).
