An expressive and refined Margaux wine

    The estate

The Château Giscours, located in Bordeaux in the Margaux appellation, is a historic wine estate dating back to 1330, with evidence of viticulture as early as 1552. Managed since 1995 by the Albada Jelgersma family, the estate covers 300 hectares. This Third Growth of 1855 is recognized for its ecological commitment, recent innovations and technical heritage, notably the Skawinski plow.

    The vineyard

The vineyard of Château Giscours benefits from an exceptional terroir of 95 hectares composed of deep Garonne-origin gravel, typical of the great Margaux wines. These well-draining soils allow vine roots to plunge deeply in search of nutrients, giving the wines their characteristic structure and elegance. The proximity to the Gironde estuary also offers a perfect microclimate for the optimal ripening of the grapes.

    Winemaking and aging

Winemaking took place in concrete and stainless steel vats, with a 35-day maceration at 28°C allowing optimal extraction of aromas and tannins. Aging continued for 17 months in French oak barrels, 50% new wood, bringing complexity and finesse to this great wine.

    Blend

60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot.
