    Vinum

On the nose, blueberries and blackberries, herbs, and floral notes; on the palate, straightforward and fruit-driven, slim in body, noticeable acidity, gentle tannins; red-fruited finish with sour cherries. Built for early drinking.

    Decanter

Beautifully open and expressive aromas. This has great purity, energy and focus - wonderfully alive on the palate with vibrancy. It's not a blockbuster, but you can't fault the precision on show with bitter grapefruit, chalky edges and red berry fruit. There's a touch of citrus to the high acidity but it has a lot of charm and once this settles this will be delicious for early drinking. Tasted twice. 3.4pH. 55 IPT.

Black cherries, tobacco, smoke, licorice, flowers, and red currants show in the perfume. Medium-bodied, soft, forward, and fruity, the vibrant, fresh, classic wine will be charming on release, and for at least 12-15 years after that. Drink from 2027-2040. 90-92 Pts

    Le Figaro Vin

An enchanting, heady floral nose. The intense palate retains freshness, and silky tannins contribute to a sleek texture, with a finely tangy finish. The whole needs time to find its balance.

The elegance and structure of a 3rd Grand Cru Classé from Haut-Médoc

    The property

Château La Lagune, founded in 1587, is a prestigious wine estate located in Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux. The château, designed by the architect Baron Victor Louis, architect of the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux, is an example of Bordeaux architectural elegance. Classified as a 3rd Grand Cru Classé in 1855, the estate extends over an exceptional gravel terroir, promoting a unique microclimate. Since 2004, Caroline Frey has been using all her expertise to elevate Château La Lagune to the highest level.

    The vineyard

Located in the Haut-Médoc on light gravel soils composed of pink, yellow, white quartz, calcite, and agates, the 20 to 60-year-old vineyard benefits from an ideal terroir for the expression of Bordeaux grape varieties. The property is strongly committed to preserving biodiversity with 40 hectares of forests, marshes, and meadows, as well as 150 trees and 2,700 meters of hedges planted.

    The vintage

The year 2024 was marked by particularly challenging weather conditions. A warm and rainy autumn and winter were followed by a cool and also rainy spring. The summer proved more classic, before a September that was again cool and humid. These conditions required constant vigilance in the vineyard and a rigorous selection of grapes during the harvest, which took place from September 23 to October 9.

    Vinification and aging

Hand harvesting followed by a triple manual sorting complemented by an optical sorting. Gentle vinification. Aging takes place in French oak barrels, 50% of which are renewed each year, allowing the wine to develop its complexity while preserving the fruit and freshness characteristic of the terroir.

    Blend

52% Cabernet Sauvignon and 42% Merlot.
