    Vinum

Blackcurrant, a touch of cola, tobacco, jasmine tea; a supple palate, delicate fruit, fine tannins, elegant, balanced, slightly saline and with good length. It will be enjoyable early on.

    Decanter

Dark heady scents on the nose, ripe blackcurrants with some dark chocolate touches. Quite a hands off style with lovely fruit purity and delicacy in terms of tannins and wood. A touch grippy on the finish with some cooling liquorice and stony aspects. Really well balanced and well delivered, harmonious with a lovely supple, bounce. Deep and concentrated but with no heaviness. This is really not trying to be something it can't. Fine delicate, compelling. One of the best EP samples I've tried from this estate. 3.7pH. Ageing 16 months, 30% new barrels, 50% one year, 5% amphora.

Elegant, soft, supple, creamy, sweet, and loaded with silky, polished, black with red fruits, the wine finishes with a refined edge to its ample supple of ripe, cherries, plums, licorice, and cocoa accents. Drink from 2029-2050. 93-95 Pts

Deep, well-developed plum and cassis on the nose, with attractive dark spice, capsicum and olive pit notes. High proportion of Cabernet Franc, with fragrant rose petal and iris aromas, very fruit-forward. Aged in 12hl casks, pH 3.7. Harvested September 3 to 16. 30% new oak, yield 27hl/ha. Sand and gravel soils.

    Yves Beck

Delicate floral nuances mingle with blackberry and raspberry notes in the bouquet of Tour Figeac. The slightly creamy character of the attack sets the stage beautifully. The wine follows a precise course and unfolds seamlessly. Velvety tannins work quietly in the background, lending appreciable power, while acidity brings drive and definition to the finish. A pleasant, promising wine.

Characteristics and Tasting Notes for Château La Tour Figeac 2025

    Tasting

    Colour
True to the estate's signature style, this red wine displays a deep, concentrated colour that reflects excellent ripeness without being overly opaque.

    Nose
The property's characteristic aromatic profile offers an expressive bouquet dominated by red and black fruits such as cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant. The whole is often enhanced by notes of liquorice, spice and undergrowth, along with delicate mineral touches.

    Palate
Faithful to the identity of the cru, the palate favours elegance over overt power. The texture is silky and harmonious, supported by soft tannins, leading to a remarkably fresh finish.

    Food and Wine Pairings

This cuvée will pair perfectly with tender meats such as beef fillet, roast veal chop or duck breast. It will also be a wonderful match for dishes with mushroom sauces, poultry with wild mushrooms or roasted root vegetables.

    Serving and Ageing

Château La Tour Figeac 2025 has a fine structure that gives it excellent ageing potential. It will develop gracefully in the cellar for around fifteen years, or even longer.

The Finesse and Complexity of a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé

    The Estate

Established in 1879 when it was separated from the Figeac lands, Château La Tour Figeac is a leading family estate in the Bordeaux region of France. Acquired by the Rettenmaier family in 1973, the estate is now run by Otto Maximilian Rettenmaier. This Grand Cru Classé quickly stood out for its environmentally respectful approach, becoming a pioneer of biodynamics. The cru is renowned for producing wines that combine purity, elegance and an authentic expression of their terroir.

    The Vineyard

Located on the border with Pomerol, this single-block vineyard of around 14.5 hectares enjoys a prime location within the Saint-Emilion appellation. The vines thrive on a gentle rise of gravel and sand over deep clay. This exceptional terroir, surrounded by illustrious neighbours, is planted at high density and worked mechanically, without any chemical weedkillers, in strict respect of the natural balance.

    Winemaking and Ageing

The grapes undergo meticulous plot-by-plot vinification, with an emphasis on punching down for a gentle, even extraction. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barrels. Château La Tour Figeac 2025 is aged for around 15 months in a combination of large wooden casks and stainless steel tanks to preserve the brightness of the fruit and the finesse of the tannins.
