    Description

    A rich and full-bodied Saint-Julien wine

    The estate

The Château Langoa Barton is a Third Classified Growth in 1855 of the Saint-Julien appellation on the left bank of Bordeaux. The estate was acquired in 1821 by the influential trading company Barton & Gustier, already experienced in wine production in this area around Château Léoville Barton, acquired by the same family in 1826. Today, the Barton family still heads the estate.

    The vineyard

The Château Langoa Barton 2009 is a Saint-Julien wine from a vineyard planted on gravel with clay subsoils.

    Vinification and ageing

Manual harvesting before sorting, destemming, crushing and then vatting to start parcel vinification. Alcoholic fermentation for 7 to 10 days. Gentle extraction accompanied by pumping over. Maceration of about 3 weeks before running off into barrels by batch. Ageing between 16 and 18 months in French oak barrels, 60% of which are new.

    Blend

    Cabernet Sauvignon (54%)
    Merlot (34%)
    Cabernet Franc (12%)
